DESCRIPTION

From the author of How to Live, At the Existentialist Café by Sarah Bakewell takes you to Paris, near the turn of 1932-33. Three young friends meet over apricot cocktails at the Bec-de-Gaz bar on the rue Montparnasse. They are Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, and their friend Raymond Aron, who opens their eyes to a radical new way of thinking.

A Remai Modern Artful Reading Special Selection. Remai Modern's book discussion program brings together two things we love: great art and literature! Led by different guest hosts and moderated by Robin Adair, participants are invited to discuss the selected book in connection to artworks on view.
