One Year Anniversary
Due to circumstances beyond Remai Modern’s control, internationally renowned artist, musician and writer Hassan Khan is unable to perform at the museum’s one-year anniversary party. An unusually long process, including extensive security screenings and background checks, resulted in a longer-than-normal delay to his Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA), which remains outstanding.
As a key part of our mandate, Remai Modern believes in empowering connections across borders, cultures and any other perceived differences between groups of people. This is a particularly critical goal in light of the global rise of discrimination against individuals and communities based on ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, belief and class affiliation.
Our one-year anniversary is a chance to gather on Treaty Six territory and the Traditional Homeland of the Métis to reflect on the global environment while celebrating diversity and inclusivity. We look forward to celebrating the successes of the past year with you all.
