A Renegade History of the United States

Artful Reading

This provocative perspective on America's history claims that the country's personality was defined not by the ideals of the elites and intellectuals, but rather by those who lived on the fringes of society and challenged the conventions of their day.  This program is hosted by Rachel Loewen Walker.

Rachel Loewen Walker is a queer woman with a background in Gender Studies and Philosophy. Rachel has spent many years writing, teaching and researching in the fields of queer theory, gender and popular culture and feminist philosophy. She has been with OUTSaskatoon since 2013, where she works to support a dynamic team, as they support Saskatoon's queer, trans, and two-spirit communities.

About the talk

Led by different guest hosts and moderated by Robin Adair, participants are invited to discuss the selected book in connection to artworks on view.
