ART APPRECIATION

Can you see what I mean? Art & Content

Explore the messages and feelings imparted by works of art and the relationship between form and content. Rebecca Belmore’s exhibition Facing the Monumental will be the springboard for an exploration of art as activism, and the role of art in affecting social change.

About the talk

Artists may spend weeks, months, even years creating a work of art, yet many viewers spend only seconds looking at it. This four-part series is designed to slow things down, explore some big ideas, and offer tools and practices for looking at and talking about art. The evening will conclude with refreshments and conversation. $10 per session with admission or membership. To register email cwylie@remaimodern.org.

MUSEUM HOURS

Remai Modern is temporarily closed in an effort to help mitigate risks to the public related to the spread of COVID-19.
