ART APPRECIATION

What's The Big Idea? Art Now

Contemporary artists work in a global, diverse and technologically advancing world. Contemporary art as a whole is distinguished by the lack of a uniform ideology. As you view art in our galleries, discuss appropriation and the state of art today. When is it okay to copy?

About the talk

Artists may spend weeks, months, even years creating a work of art, yet many viewers spend only seconds looking at it. This four-part series program is designed to slow things down, explore some big ideas, and offer tools and practices for looking at and talking about art. The evening will conclude with refreshments and conversation. Admission or membership + $10 or In addition to Admission or membership, there is a $10 fee to cover light refreshment. To register email cwylie@remaimodern.org.
