Dr. Eric Dayton

Viewpoints

Everyone has certain experiences—listening to music, reading poetry, looking at pictures, hiking along the prairie—that are (or seem to be) distinctive and valuable in character. Such experiences can involve immediate, powerful emotions and sometimes also have (or seem to have) a commanding cognitive or contemplative aspect. Join Dr. Eric Dayton as he speaks about aesthetic philosophy and the concept of beauty.

Dr. Eric Dayton is Professor Emeritus of Philosophy at the University of Saskatchewan. He has taught at the University of Saskatchewan for 43 years, and has served as Department Head three times. Dr. Dayton has published widely on aesthetics, including, Art and Interpretation, an anthology of readings in aesthetics and the philosophy of art.

Free with admission or membership. No registration required.

Meet in front of the Cameco Play Area on Level 2.
