Join us for a special evening with author, curator and art historian Roald Nasgaard. For his talk at Remai Modern, Nasgaard will consider Bornstein’s art and career in the larger contexts of modernist abstraction and landscape painting.

Eli Bornstein will be present to sign copies of the latest edition of The Structurist publication.

Roald Nasgaard, O.C., Professor Emeritus, Florida State University, served for many years as Curator of Contemporary Art and Chief Curator at the Art Gallery of Ontario. He has curated numerous exhibitions of Canadian and international artists. His books include The Mystic North: Symbolist Landscape Painting in Northern Europe and North America 1890-1940, Abstract Painting in Canada, The Automatiste Revolution: Montreal 1941-1960, and The Plasticiens and Beyond: Montreal 1955-1970. Most recently he co-curated Mystical Landscapes (AGO, 2016 and Musée d’Orsay, 2017) and Higher States: Lawren Harris and His American Contemporaries (McMichael Collection and Glenbow Museum, 2017).
