Core Function

Under the supervision of Communications Manager this position is responsible for collaboratively developing, delivering, and reporting on all aspects of the Museum online presence.

Scope & Major Responsibilities

  1. Develops and delivers the Museum’s digital, web and social strategy
  2. Supports the development and maintenance of the Museum website and other digital platforms.
  3. Engages with online audiences through content, answers questions and foster connections to the museum.
  4. Develops communications tools such as e-newsletters, videos.
  5. Supports in the delivery of marketing materials.
  6. Contributes to the development of digital strategies.
  7. Tracks and reports marketing analytics and recommends improvements.
  8. Develops and distributes digital/social content with an emphasis on dynamic media, including video.
  9. Supports the annual content strategy, plan and calendar.
  10. Evaluates the Museum’s content effectiveness, gauging audience reaction and participation, and makes recommendations for improvements.
  11. Coordinates the Museum’s overall response to digital inquiries.
  12. Supports the Museum’s advertising plan with targeted content development and placement.
  13. Provides content planning assistance.
  14. Leads projects to enhance the Museum’s online presence and works collaboratively with outside vendors and partners on marketing and communications projects.
  15. Researches and recommends new and innovative platforms and methods to connect with audiences through content.
  16. Provides multi-media support, as required.
  17. Supports and promotes the health and safety of employees in accordance with the Saskatchewan Employment Act, Saskatchewan Health Regulations and Standards, Occupational Health & Safety Regulations and the Remai Moderns administrative Occupational Health & Safety policies and departmental procedures.
  18. Performs other related duties, as assigned.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills

  1. Demonstrated skill in digital/social media, communications, technical production, public relations, and marketing.
  2. Demonstrated understanding of communication platforms including email, web, digital and social media.
  3. Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality related to Museum collections and operations.
  4. Demonstrated organizational and planning skills.
  5. Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
  6. Demonstrated skill in the use of a computer with Microsoft Office software and digital/social dashboards and communication, photography and multimedia design and development software.
  7. Demonstrated ability in the use of technical equipment, including sounds and video.
  8. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships
  9. Thorough knowledge of and interest in the arts and tourism sectors.
  10. Knowledge of public sector and non-profit organizational operations.
  11. Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion.
