Artist Talk: Rigmor Clarke
Join Shell Lake artist Rigmor Clarke for a talk about her practice, her process, and her piece Untitled (tree) 1986 which is featured in the exhibition Views from the Blue House: The Remai Modern Collection.
Bio:
Rigmor Clarke was born in Sweden in 1935 and moved with her family to British Columbia in 1949. At 21, Clarke moved to Saskatchewan, where she still resides. Her passion is to paint the untamed landscape of northern Saskatchewan, a region she first visited on a canoe trip on the Churchill River and painting plein air. Clarke has also explored Lac la Ronge and the Cub Hills on extended solo trips.
Now 90 years old, Clarke is exploring different media in her practice including screen print and encaustic painting.
