Cinema at the Museum: Aberdeen
This June, Cinema at the Museum presents a series of films in honour of both Indigenous History Month and Pride Month. These films reflect on and examine themes of community, identity, representation, love, acceptance, and family from a wide range of Indigenous and 2SLGBTQ filmmakers.

An idyllic childhood with her mooshum and kookum (grandparents), in her community of Peguis First Nation dissipates as Aberdeen’s hard-partying and absentee parents distance her from that safe space. Now an adult, sleeping on public benches, the Winnipeg-based woman is in survival mode as the last remaining stable parts of her life begin slipping away.
This screening of Aberdeen is free and open to the public.
