About the Artists

Isabella Forciniti is an innovative sound artist from Italy based in Vienna. Her practice embraces performance, composition, and research. A contributor to The Dim Coast project A Sound That Never Was, her music and live performances range from meticulously crafted arrangements to impromptu improvisation.

Steve Bates is an artist and musician living in Saskatoon, and one half of the publishing and curatorial project, The Dim Coast, with jake moore. Through his work he listens to thresholds, boundaries and borders, points of contact and conflict. Whether installation, moving image, print or photographic work, the sonic weaving of story, space, materials and their socio-political history is the focus of his work.

jake moore is an intermedia artist whose primary medium is space. She works at the intersection of material, gesture, text, and vocality to make exhibitions, events and other kinds of interventions public. She is the Director, University Art Galleries and Collections and Assistant Professor in Art and Art History at the University of Saskatchewan.

Raven Chacon is an artist and Pulitzer-prize winning composer. His score, Compass, will be interpreted by musician Chad Munson, a solo artist, sound engineer and organizer from Saskatoon.

Isabella Forciniti acknowledges the support of the Austrian Cultural Forum in Ottawa.
