Special Screening: Behind the Scenes of Hearth

From their first restaurant in a strip mall on Melrose Avenue, Beth Rogers and Thayne Robstad found both an enthusiastic local following and got the attention of Canada’s culinary scene, landing on Canada’s Top 100 restaurants twice. In 2022, they joined forces with Remai Modern, taking over the museum’s catering and starting the process to move Hearth into a new space on the museum’s ground floor. Follow their exciting journey in this short documentary that chronicles their philosophy on food, the behind-the-scenes steps it took to get ready to open at Remai Modern and why having connections to local producers and farmers is central to their business.
