Join the artists behind our Wearable Weather installation as they model their art and share stories about how they designed and created the pieces. You can wear their costumes or a creation of your own as you walk the red carpet.

Aldeneil Española Jr. is a queer, first-generation Canadian-Filipinx artist living and working on Treaty 6 Territory in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Aldeneil’s interdisciplinary practice is expansive across both personal and community practice. Working across wearable art, textiles, painting, drawing, performance, and film, Aldeneil draws on Filipino and diasporic cultural identity and mythologies, treating myth and fiction as a way of expanding what is understood as real and possible.

Jonathan Cestnick (he/him) is thrilled to be a part of Wearable Weather as a Costume Designer. Jonathan is a multi-disciplined artist and designer originally from Fort McMurray, AB. He completed a residency with Source Dance Company and graduated from Toronto Metropolitan University with a BFA in Performance Production. He strives to produce art centered around collaboration, exploration, and trust.

Join Rockford and friends to build and play in the Imagination Playground. Use the larger-than-life blocks to build sky-high towers and bridges, then knock it all down and start again.

The Children’s Festival of Saskatchewan is an arts-based festival where children play and learn. Each year it welcomes thousands of children, parents, educators and caregivers for a fun-filled, four-day celebration of play.

In partnership with Dance Saskatchewan (DSI), Remai Modern co-hosts an August Dance Artist-in-Residence Program at the museum, culminating at WEGO with new work by local dance artists.

Alicia Clark is a dance artist, choreographer, movement director, and dance educator. Her versatility as a dancer has led her to perform and collaborate in numerous pieces, companies, and festivals in both contemporary and commercial work. Alicia’s poetic nature, drive, and curiosity fuel her approach to movement. The passion she has for live performance translates into a practice of developing immersive, introspective work that fuses artistic mediums; be it for theatre, fashion shows, installations, or beyond. Select credits include Lignes Des Fuite, Art Pop-Up Toronto, and Vancouver International Dance Festival.

Hayley Scherman is a Saskatchewan-born dancer whose practice spans a wide range of styles. Dancing since age four, she was a longtime member of 306 Elite Dance Company. Scherman recently completed two years of training in New York City under Emmy-nominated choreographer Stacey Tookey, as one of only 24 dancers selected for her program, The Bridge Movement. She has appeared in numerous New York productions and worked with artists including Anthony Morigerato, Heather Lang, Anna Marchisello, Ioana Alfonso, Calen Kurka and Corey John Snide.

Sarah Longpre is a Saskatoon-based professional dance artist and the founder and owner of the Saskatoon Pole and Dance Studio. With over 15 years of experience, Longpre is a passionate advocate for underserved dance communities, with a practice rooted in the belief that dance should be inclusive and transformative. Working in a genre historically stigmatized in Saskatchewan, she has dedicated her career to elevating Pole Art as a legitimate, expressive and powerful form of contemporary movement, alongside her work in other forms.

Julenne Florida was born and raised in Saskatoon and started dancing at age six, going on to specialize in hip hop, street dance and choreography. She has performed on major stages including World of Dance New York, Canada’s Got Talent, Artists Emerge, Represent and Release Dance Competition. Julenne directs Flip Kidz, a community dance team providing accessible programming and performance opportunities for Filipino youth, and leads The Dog House, a hip hop program based at Rise Dance Company. She is passionate about bringing communities together through dance.

In celebration of the Diefenbaker Canada Centre’s new exhibit, Bridge City Beats, join in musical activities for the whole family. Step into the world of music through hands-on games and creative exploration, learn about the different families of musical instruments, then make your own instrument to take home.

The Diefenbaker Canada Centre is a museum on the University of Saskatchewan campus that brings Canadian history to life through interactive exhibits, educational programs and special events for visitors of all ages.

Dynamite Dale brings explosive energy and a new spark to traditional card magic. Known for his fun, interactive style, Dale doesn’t just perform magic, he lights a fuse for an unforgettable experience.

While this is his first year performing magic, Dale is already an experienced entertainer, having spent the past three years captivating audiences as a circus artist. A highly sought-after performer, he knows how to engage crowds of all ages with confidence and charisma. Since stepping onto the stage at just 11 years old, Dynamite Dale’s personable style and infectious enthusiasm are sure to have audiences buzzing.

Join us at WEGO for a celebration of Indigenous culture through the vibrant tradition of Powwow dance. Sharing this experience are three young Indigenous dancers who are carrying forward the teachings, traditions, and spirit of their communities.

Treyden Kahsokeo Moosomin is an 18-year-old Grass Dancer from Poundmaker Cree Nation and Mosquito, Grizzly Bear’s Head, Lean First Nation.

Beretta Sanderson is a teen Jingle Dress Dancer from Cote First Nation and a former member of the Mahikanak Dance Troupe.

Davika Ironbow is a Fancy Shawl Dancer from Waterhen Lake First Nation and a former member of the Mahikanak Dance Troupe.

Powwow is a living tradition that brings together culture, community, and connection. Through every step, song, and regalia, these young dancers are carrying forward teachings that have been shared from generation to generation.

We invite you to gather with us as we celebrate the strength, beauty, and resilience of Indigenous cultures and honour the next generation who continue to keep these traditions strong.

Linglong Chinese Dance Studio is dedicated to sharing the beauty of traditional Chinese arts and culture through performance, education, and cultural exchange. Our programs feature Chinese dance as well as traditional music, Hanfu (traditional Chinese clothing), and other cultural art forms. Through performances, workshops, and community events, we celebrate the richness of Chinese heritage and encourage people from diverse backgrounds to experience and appreciate traditional Chinese culture.

Loonie Bin, a three-piece band from Saskatoon combining elements of blues, rock, and punk, is comprised of brothers Cliffton Burlingham (18) (guitarist/vocalist/pianist) and Chris Burlingham (12) (bassist/pianist), and drummer Eric Zwack (14) (percussionist/pianist/saxophonist). This talented trio defies age conventions, focusing instead on crafting memorable performances that underscore their remarkable musical talents and unwavering passion, having recorded their first original song before the age of 17. Loonie Bin is known for their distinctive style, masterfully fusing driving rhythms, soaring guitar, and an encyclopedic knowledge of diverse genres and influential artists, including Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Radiohead, Cream, Ozzy Osbourne, and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Enjoy a selection of large traditional wooden games, accessible to all ages and perfect for playing with family and friends. They’re fun and challenging, but the rules are very simple and easy to understand. Cedric Delavaud designs and creates these games which are inspired by traditional games he played at events as a child growing up in France. Delavaud chose both a Francophone and English side to his name which is why he combined the French word ludo with the English word land. The games are great for learning while playing and having fun!

Explore the beauty of the Meewasin Valley with a postcard scavenger hunt for all ages. The activity includes colouring sheets and other interactive handouts and a colouring station. It’s a perfect way for both parents and kids to engage with nature, learn about the valley, and create lasting memories while having fun outdoors. Plus, take part in hands on activities to learn about native plants, and birds.

Dive into the world of Ponteix, a psyche-pop project with spellbinding sounds led by multi-instrumentalist producer Mario Lepage, unveiling his opus Le Canadien Errant live. A sonic mosaic that has left its mark in Canada and Europe, with lyrics focused on Lepage’s roots as Fransaskois from the Canadian prairies.

From the heart of the Canadian prairies, Ponteix distills hypnotic grooves, skillfully blending psyche-pop-electronic with the melancholy of RnB and indie rock.

On stage, the Fransaskois project appears as a trio, delivering an electrifying experience with lyrics focused on the roots of Mario Lepage, hailing from the hamlet of St. Denis in Saskatchewan.

Carried by the winds of the plains, Lepage ventured to Montreal to give birth to Ponteix’s second opus, “Le Canadien Errant,” unleashed in February 2025.

Visit the Saskatchewan Intercultural Association (SIA) to try a basic henna design and pick up intercultural colouring pages to take home.

SIA is focused on promoting intercultural understanding and the retention of cultural identity and language.

• The Saskatoon Cycles Bike Valet provides safe, secure and free bicycle parking for riders at large festivals and major community events.
• Cyclists are greeted by attendants and given a card with a number that matches a tag on their bike. Bikes are parked in a secure area and returned when the card is presented.
• The Bike Valet appears at many major Saskatoon festivals, parking thousands of bikes every year, as part of an effort to promote active transportation safety, awareness and road-sharing courtesy.

Spin to Win a Story: Visit the Saskatoon Public Library booth and give our giant wheel a spin. Wherever it lands, you’ll win a live story inspired by a fun prompt, such as something smelly, unexpected, magical or more. Every spin brings a new storytelling adventure.

Commissioned for Carried by rivers, held by lands, Tanya Lukin Linklater’s Storm song is a site-responsive installation of sound, textiles, and places of rest. Located in the Gallery Lounge on Level 3 of Remai Modern, overlooking kisiskâciwani-sîpiy—the South Saskatchewan River—the work extends Lukin Linklater’s ongoing consideration of weather, temporality, and embodied knowledges.

Celebrate Ukrainian culture through creativity and connection. Children are invited to make a keepsake using stamps featuring traditional Ukrainian symbols, including the Trident, kalyna (guelder rose), wheat, sunflower and Cossack imagery. Visitors can also contribute to a collaborative artwork by placing a heart sticker on a map and sharing their name, a wish, a message or a special thought. It’s a fun, meaningful way to explore Ukrainian culture while creating something together as a community.

For thousands of years, Northern Plains Indigenous peoples relied on bison as a major source of food, tools and shelter. To hunt bison and survive a challenging environment, children were taught survival skills in the form of games. Join Wanuskewin for an interactive program to learn how Northern Plains Indigenous peoples used the bison, and try your hand at traditional games that build hunting, physical and social skills.

Plus, join Lyndon J. Linklater for birch bark basket making.
