Joseph Alfred Remai Family Foundation
In January 2018, Remai Modern was pleased to announce a major gift of $350,000 from the Joseph Alfred Remai Family Foundation. This incredibly generous gift will be directed to the School Tour + Activity Program for three years, offsetting the costs schools and students incur to participate in meaningful programming.
Joe Remai is passionate about his family and his community. He was one of ten children growing up on a farm near Carrot River, Saskatchewan. He completed an engineering degree at the University of Saskatchewan before joining his brothers Frank and John in the general contracting business. Since that time, Joe has continued to be involved in construction and real estate in the province.
“The new museum is a magnificent facility in our great city, and I believe strongly in projects that will support educational and learning opportunities for children,” Joe Remai said.
“Accessibility to Remai Modern is critical, and I am delighted to help make it easier for students to participate in the School Tour + Activity Program. “
Joe and his wife, Marie, have three children and eight grandchildren, and they believe in giving back to the community. They have generously contributed to many worthy projects in Saskatoon, placing a priority on initiatives that will improve quality of life for all.
“Remai Modern has so much to offer,” Remai added. “I like the idea of being able to assist with a program that will give more than 10,000 students the opportunity to experience and participate in arts education.”
