Core Function
Under the supervision of the Program Coordinator, the Program Assistant (Learning) provides administrative support, develops, implements and delivers programs with a focus on education and youth programs.
Scope & Major Responsibilities
- Responds to program requests and schedules delivery of education programs, youth programs, and studio programs including guided tours, camps, drop-in studio programs and workshops.
- Participates in process improvements, supports employee orientation and the introduction to processes and protocols.
- Develops, implements and delivers learning programs and special projects.
- Develops interpretive materials and lesson plans.
- Conducts research and prepares materials to support program delivery and marketing.
- Maintains records and assists with reports and applications for grants and funding
- Assists with monitoring of budgets and work plans.
- Assists with training and orientation sessions.
- Orders and maintains studio supplies and resource materials
- Maintains ongoing familiarity with modern and contemporary art and innovation in education.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver education programs.
- Demonstrated skill in a variety of art media.
- Demonstrated creative and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships and the ability to work enthusiastically and effectively.
- Ability to support and coordinate the work of staff.
- Demonstrated ability to express ideas and concepts effectively, orally and in writing,
- Demonstrated ability to maintain close attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Demonstrated organizational and planning skills.
- Thorough knowledge of current practices in contemporary art, art history, museum education and engagement.
- Ability to use applicable applications within Microsoft Office Suite.
